Designing Function Specific Materials

Here we design and develop function specific self-assembled materials to address few critical challenges.

We navigate from molecules to self-assemblies to advanced functional materials for specific recognition, separation and remediation.

We synthesize small organic molecular building blocks, specific inorganic templates, modified polymers, open-framework materials, and porous materials.

We study secondary interactions responsible for unique interfacial features, leading to nanoscale self-assemblies arranged as discs, spheres, cylinders, vesicles, bilayers, rods, 2D sheets and so forth in order to decrease the overall free energy during the spontaneous formation of thermodynamically stable self-assembled structures.

We investigate mechanical strength, chemical and hydrolytic stability for their applicability.
